Welcome

This website has been set up in support of the Residency Review and Redesign in Pediatrics project (R3P) - a project of the American Board of Pediatrics.

group

To date there have been 3 colloquia held in Durham, NC. The first colloquium, in August, 2006 explored the future of pediatric practice. Then, participants used the potential future of pediatric practice to begin looking at new knowledge, attitudes and skills that could be added to pediatric training to prepare the future pediatrician to be successful in that future. In January, 2007, using the themes and skills ideas generated in the first colloquium, participants in the second colloquium began to explore various assessment tools and modalities that could aid in measuring physician competence - both in residency and throughout their career. The third colloquium took place in August, 2007 and had partciipants taking an indepth look at the output for this project becoming a process of continual improvement and less of a directive for specific residency redesign.
